Software Development Manager

Remote - Rockville, MD

Savantage Solutions is seeking a Software Development Manager to join our technical services team to be a point of contact to stakeholders on the Agile software development life cycle and related database matters. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large software development teams across multiple customers for products within the Oracle Development Technology Stack and will be responsible for ensuring CMMI-certified processes and procedures are consistently adhered to.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages operations for delivery of quality products in accordance with delivery schedules and the Savantage CMMI Certified Software Development Life Cycle (SDLCM).
  • Ensure development assignments based on software development team knowledge and availability.
  • Lead teams for assessments of products for reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Execute, risk management framework, configuration management (CM), information assurance (IA), and quality assurance (QA) best practices.
  • Recommend process improvements in the SDLCM to the Savantage Quality Manager Executive (QME).
  • Serve as the Technical Point of Contact (POC) for meetings supporting software development activities.
  • Implement technology visions as set by Savantage Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Deputy CTO.
  • Lead and support technical meetings and status reviews with Chief Cyber Officer (CCO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Deputy CTO, Customer Account Executives, and Software Development Team.
  • Prepare, review, and/or approve weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and deliverables.
  • Position reports to the Savantage Chief Cyber Officer.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

The candidate must have:

  • An active Public Trust.
  • 10+ years of related work experience; experience managing software development projects.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders within an organization.
  • Experience with Oracle Software Development Technologies, including APEX.
  • Experience with development configuration management tools (i.e. Solutions Business Manager, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Gitlab, GitHub).

Education and Certification

  • BA/BS degree in a Business, engineering, or related field; MA/MS degree a plus. Years of experience may be substituted for education on a one-for-one basis. 
  • PMI PMP (or equivalent) certification a plus.
